On February 24, 1995, since Wright was suffering with a violent cough, he was brought to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It was determined that he was infected with HIV and AIDS. On March 16, 1995, he disclosed his condition to the whole public. According to the allegations, Wright contracted the virus through a sexual relationship.

After he had already expressed his regrets to Ice Cube, he said goodbye to his fans by penning a letter that was sent out during the week of March 20. On March 26, 1995, exactly one month after he was diagnosed with AIDS, Eazy-E passed away as a result of AIDS-related pneumonia.
