Hima Das is an Indian Athlete who is also known as “The Golden Girl of India”. Hima Das is the first Indian to win the Gold medal in track and field at IAAF World Championship in 2018. After her huge achievement, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself congratulated her on Twitter for the gold medal in track and field. Hima Das is also known as ‘Dhing Express‘ due to her exceptional speed on the running track. She was born on the 9th of January in 2000 in Dhing, Assam. She was interested in sports and outdoor games since the beginning and she loved to play football. Nipon who is Hima’s coach spotted her in an intercontinental match.
Hima always played football with boys and she was an exceptional athlete and her coach Shamsul Hoque advised her to move to tracks instead of the turf. Hima also did not see any prospects of her in football, therefore, she made a firm decision of making a career in running.

Hima Das was born on 9th of January, 2000 in Dhing, Nagaon located in Assam. In childhood, she was interested in football and she used to play football with friends and then she moved to track. Nipon is Hima’s coach who spotted her in a match said “Hima was wearing cheap shoes, but she won gold in 100m and 200m race. She moved like win!”.
Hima did her schooling for Dhing public school and she completed her 12th from Assam higher secondary council in 2018. Hima is just 19 years old as of 2019 and her hobby is to play football and watch movies. She belongs from a poor family and was born and brought up in a small village Kandhulimiri.
Hima is 5’5 inches tall and this speedster weighs around 50 kilograms. She has black eyes and brown hair but currently, she has colored her hair Blonde. Her zodiac sign is Capricorn and she is a Hindu by religion.
