On January 20th, Tito disclosed on his account that he has been battling COVID-19 since that day. It is unclear whether or not he had been immunised against the disease. In his message, he said, “if you have any type of love for me whatsoever, I beg that you pray for me to survive.” (If you have any kind of love for me at all.)
He went on to add that he had been battling Covid since the 20th of January, and that he had been brought to the hospital on Monday, January 29 unable to breathe and requiring life support, “I can’t breathe. It seems like every step I take uses up all of my energy, making it difficult for me to take a breath in between actions.
The Benavides family has confirmed his passing with a statement that says, “Today, Friday, February 11, 2022, Robert “Tito” Benavides Jr. moved on to be with the Lord in Paradise.” The message was provided by the Benavides family. The statement goes on to say that Tito B put up a valiant effort throughout the battle, but that eventually his time spent in the flesh has come to an end.
Tito B was said to be a kind and loyal husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and great artist. He was also characterised as having a nephew named after him.
